Speech and Language Therapist

Communication is a right not a privilege. Communication skills are essential to understand others and be understood. They are the foundation for getting needs met, building connections with others, literacy, learning, and, into adulthood, employment, and independence. Speech and Language Therapy is rewarding because the impact can be so far-reaching. Not only that; being able to celebrate with a client and their families when a goal is reached, no matter how small, really motivates me. Bringing creativity and fun into sessions makes therapy something that clients look forward to. Approaches that are tailored to individual strengths and needs, interests, and goals, ensure clients are motivated, engaged and therapy leads to the best possible outcomes.

My favourite word is ‘hope’, hope gives us motivation to keep going and stay positive when times are tough.
