Being able to communicate is what connects us to the world. Having always loved working with children, I first started as a qualified teacher and soon found my way to Speech and Language Therapy. I love that now as a Speech and Language Therapist, I have the opportunity to work with children in creative ways allowing them to learn to communicate through fun and enjoyable activities! The diverse backgrounds, personalities and constantly evolving abilities of children are really exciting as they allow me to always be learning and trying unique ways to help every child – providing each child with what is best suited for them!
My favourite word is ‘Gratitude’. It is the quality that allows us to be appreciative and focus on the positives. It motivates us to look at the brighter side of things, even when they don’t seem to go our way.
