Every person deserves a voice, as it is our ability to clearly communicate that allows us to build positive social relationships, get our needs met, and have our preferences and wishes heard. Working with children and their families to help them use their voices and participate fully in social and educational environments is hugely rewarding. Seeing the happiness that meeting communication goals can bring to both the child and their family is what makes me love working as a speech and language therapist!

My favourite word is ‘cascade’ - a waterfall or a series of small waterfalls over steep rocks, because it reminds me of the beauty and peace of the natural world.
