Speech and Language Therapist

My journey into Speech and Language Therapy began with my non-speaking niece. When she was diagnosed as Autistic, my family and I knew very little about Neurodiversity. I immersed myself into researching and finding creative ways to support her communication, which facilitated a passion within me. I feel honoured to be able to turn my personal journey into a profession, by empowering other family members to navigate their similar experiences.

What I love about Speech and Language therapy is the privilege to work closely with children and adults, in making a meaningful impact on their everyday lives. In particular, the profession allows me to embed my personal values of delivering neuro-affirming, holistic and person-centered care. Alongside my speech, language and communication interests, I am also keen to further my dysphagia knowledge in supporting individuals with their safe eating, drinking and swallowing.

My favourite word is ‘Whimsical’: being playful, imaginative and having behaviour driven by fun rather than strict logic. It reminds me to stay curious, have fun in life and spread positivity!

Life is not measured by time,
it is measured by moments.
