Speech and Language Therapy Assistant Practitioner
My passion for Speech and Language Therapy began when I accompanied a child I worked closely with to an appointment exploring her ability to access an eye gaze device. The therapist brought not only a wealth of expertise, but also a sense of hope to a child and family whose expectations around communication had been limited from an early age.
Watching the child quickly build a trusting relationship through sessions filled with warmth, fun, and laughter was truly inspiring—and from that moment, I was hooked. Within weeks, I joined the speech and language therapy team, and I have remained committed to providing the same level of care, enthusiasm, and inspiration that first drew me to the profession.
I bring over 10 years of experience as a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant, working across SEN schools in Milton Keynes and Aylesbury, as well as within the NHS Early Years Complex Needs Speech and Language Team. My work has given me extensive experience supporting children with a wide range of communication needs, particularly those with complex needs and autism.
My favourite word is “fun”. I strongly believe that creating a positive, engaging, and enjoyable experience is essential for meaningful progress—for both the individual and those supporting them.
