Service Lead for Milton Keynes, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Specialist Speech and Language Therapist in Deafness

Becoming a children’s speech and language therapist was one of the best decisions I ever made. I have always been interested in both arts and sciences and speech and language therapy is the perfect combination; research and logic with some dynamic creativity. Working with children is such a joy. Their ability to adapt and keep on learning is something incredible to be a part of. It is also a privilege to work with adults too, really exploring what’s happening and problem solving together.

My favourite word is ‘transcend’. To overcome, rise, climb, go beyond. I love that you can transcend in so many ways: situations, problems, emotions, your own and other’s expectations… the possibilities are endless.

Keep on going, and the chances are that you will stumble on something, perhaps when you are least expecting it. I never heard of anyone ever stumbling on something sitting down.
