Based in Milton Keynes

Senior Speech and Language Therapist

My interest in Speech and Language Therapy began when I had a day release placement at college working with adults with learning disabilities. I became aware of how I took for granted being able to get my message across and having control over my daily decisions. I noticed how many people could not have their voice heard and I felt strongly I wanted to come along side individuals, to help them fulfil their potential and reduce societal barriers.

Communication is a fundamental human right and it has been my life’s passion to support children, young people and adults with communication needs.

I have experience working with a range of settings over the last 30 years, in the NHS, during which time, I have worked with children and parents in child development centres, primary and secondary resource bases, acute wards, stroke rehab unit, outpatient and community clinic settings supporting children, young people and adults with a wide variety of communication needs including Developmental Language Disorder, Speech Sound Disorder, Autism, ADHD, Voice, Stammering and acquired neurological disorders (e.g. as a result of a stroke).

I have a special interest in helping both adults and children with voice disorders, and stammering. I am also interested in working with adults with acquired neurological disorders post stroke.

My favourite word is Compassion. I chose this word as it describes what drives me to help others, showing concern and being part of the solution.
