Charlotte Twelvetree

Speech and Language Therapist, Developing Specialist in Complex Needs

Speech and language therapy supports children with speech, language, and communication needs to have a voice and to be heard using any means necessary.  Receiving the right person-centred support can help a child to be able to understand, express their wants and needs, make decisions, and to build positive relationships with important people in their lives. These skills are vital for children to build self-esteem, confidence, and be part of the world around them whilst reducing frustration and isolation. Supporting children and families to build these life-long skills is one of the most rewarding things about this career. Creating fun and exciting therapy to empower children and build their independence is a privilege, and a wonderful journey to be a part of.

Not being able to speak is not the same as not having anything to say: everyone has a right to be heard.
